Reverse mortgages merely convert your home equity into a more liquid form so you can make the most out of it with a high valued property. It is best this option is taken after you have reached the age of 62.

The Downside of Going Reverse

Reverse mortgages also have some downsides associated with them, especially with regards to the value of your home. Because you change your home equity into cash, this gradually cuts away at your home equity and could cause a bit of a problem for, say, your heirs.

Reverse mortgages, as available and easily attainable they might seem, are not for everyone. It is not a definite solution, even for senior citizens, because it has some issues accompanying it.
